Standby vs. Confirmed Flights for Pets

Here at PetCommute, we use standby for most of our flight transportations. Standby means that the flight nanny will be able to get on a flight without a ticket as long is there is enough space. Your flight nanny will check the flight availability consistently before departure to ensure there is enough space for your pup! We also offer a standby guarantee, meaning that if a flight nanny is not able to get on the previously decided flight or any other within 5 hours, we will purchase their ticket (at no cost to you) and fly them out of there!

Standby flights require flexibility. Sometimes, flights run out of space and need to be moved. Other times, there is no flight nanny available when you need, especially for a last-minute flight. If you would like to save some money and fly standby, contact your pet transportation company at least a week in advance and have some flexibility in your dates!

Confirmed flights are great if you need your pet delivered at a specific date and time, or within the next 1-2 days. This means that you will purchase the flight nanny's ticket in addition to the flat rate. This guarantees that you will be able to have your dog dropped off at a specific time and date! If this sounds like a better option for you, let your flight coordinator know!

Both standby and confirmed flights are great options! We have tons of choices for all of your pet transportation needs and would love to help you choose the perfect one for you and your pet!
